DOULA DAY

Some of you know and some of you don't. But I have decided to study and train to become a doula! A doula is someone who helps/supports a mother during her labor and birth as well as helps with breastfeeding etc, after the birth. I have to have a certain amount of hours with a laboring mother before I can be certified. Below are pics of the first family that I helped/supported!!!! Welcome to the world Sarah Seiver!!! Proud parents are Ken (Herc) and Renee Seiver. Renee did a beautiful job, birthing her daughter.... no medication! I was so extactic to be there for them. The miracle of birth never gets boring for me!

I really wish you weren't 3 hours from my parents' house, they're not going to be much help when I give birth. My mom told me yesterday that she 'went to sleep and woke up and had a baby. It was like magic.' I was breech and 10 days late, and she got knocked out for the c-section. Apparently she did the same thing for both of my sisters.

Wanna drive to Ennis in November?

Congrats to them and to you!! What a PERFECT thing for you to get into! You will help MANY mothers successfully give birth. You have the perfect personality and compassion it takes to make a great Dula.

Love,
Andrea
